Your choice

We have a large selection of Advanced Apprenticeships on offer that get you the right skills to make a success of your career. These include:

  • Children's Care, Learning and Development
  • Playwork

Your Advanced Apprenticeship consists of the following three elements:

National Vocational Qualification NVQ - Level 3
The NVQ is the most practical element of your Advanced Apprenticeship. It assesses the knowledge and experience you have within your chosen vocational area.

It breaks down the key parts of your job into a series of units describing the skills and knowledge you need to do your job. Completion of these units demonstrates that you can do your job effectively.

Technical Certificates
These focus on the theory of your job role and help you to acquire valuable insights into the sector in which you work. Technical Certificates are specific to your job and give you useful skills and background knowledge that you'll be able to put into practice every day.

In the Advanced Apprenticeship, the Technical Certificate is the Level 3 in CCLD or Playwork. There are five units and sit an external multiple choice test. Also incorporated into the Apprenticeship framework is a 12 hour Paediactric First Aid course.

Key Skills
These are skills you use all of the time. All Advanced Apprenticeships include a Key Skills element in Communication and Application of Number. Once you have attained your Key Skill qualifications they are transferable to any apprenticeship and essential in everyday life.
