Your Choice

We have a great selection of Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships on offer that supply you with the appropriate skills to make a success of your career. These include:

  • Children's Care, Learning and Development
  • Playwork

Your Apprenticeship consists of the following three elements:

National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) - Level 2
The NVQ is the most practical aspect of your Apprenticeship. It assesses the knowledge and experience you have within your chosen vocational area.

It breaks down the key parts of your job into a series of units describing the skills and knowledge you need to do your job. Completion of these units demonstrates you can do your job effectively.

Technical Certificates
These focus on the theory of your job role and help you acquire valuable insight into the sector in which you work. Technical Certificates are specific to your job and supply you with the background knowledge that you'll be able to put into everyday practice.

In the Apprenticeship, the Technical Certificate is the Level 2 Certificate in Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) or Playwork. There are four units and you sit an external multi-choice test. Also incorporated into the Apprenticeship framework is a 12 hour Paediactric First Aid course.

Key Skills

This element comprises of two areas:

  • Application of number
  • Communication.

Key Skills qualifications are transferable to any Apprenticeship and are essential in everyday life.
