Children's Care, Learning and Development

The NVQ Level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development is designed for those working with Children, Young People (0-16) and Families, who may have supervisory responsibilities, specialist roles or work unsupervised. It continues the professional development from a NVQ Level 2 qualification.

Examples of jobs are Nursery Nurse, Childminder, Sure Start Worker and Day Care Supervisor.

Prior to joining the course you have an interview where an initial assessment is carried out to determine the correct level for you. You can start training with triangle without having gained previous qualifications, or previous courses of study. These awards are for people who currently work, or want to work, in a Childcare environment.

Course content

There are five mandatory units and four optional units. These are some of the units you would acquire:

  • Develop and promote positive relationships
  • Promote children's development
  • Promote children's rights
  • Reflect on, and develop own practice.

Why choose this course?

NVQs will benefit both you and the organisation where you work. NVQs also raise the quality of service provided by Childcare staff. All the skills are recognised and measured against National Standards.
NVQ learners are assessed on their performance in the work setting by qualified assessors from triangle.

Learners will also be required to attend training sessions delivered by triangle. This will give you the relevant underpinning knowledge and understanding in children's care, learning and development.
